Red Chilli Sauce

Ingredients:

  1. Fresh red chillies- 100 gms
  2. Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  3. Vinegar- 2 tbsp
  4. Red tomatoes- 200 gms
  5. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  6. Glacial acetic acid- 1 tsp
  7. Water- 3 cups
  8. Cloves- 2-3
  9. Salt- 1½ tsp

Method:

  1. Wash, seeded red chillies and grind them.
  2. Boil the tomatoes in 3 cups of water for6-7 minutes.
  3. Mash with spoon and strain the tomato pulp through a sieve.
  4. Mix tomato pulp with vinegar, mustard seeds, chilli powder, ground chillies, cloves and salt.
  5. Cook the mixture for 5 minutes or till thick, turn off the fire.
  6. Strain the pulp through muslin bag or cotton cloth.
  7. Add glacial acetic acid and transfer in bottle for 4-5 days.
