Thai Egg Custard (Kai Dtun)
Ingredients:
- Eggs- 3
- Soy sauce- 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder- ½ tsp
- Chicken stock- ½ cup
- Chopped scallions- 2 tbsp
- Chopped cilantro(coriander)- 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl.
- Add chicken stock, half of the cilantro and scallions, pepper powder, salt and soy sauce.
- Whisk the mixture and shift into oven proof bowl.
- Add the water to a steamer and bring to boil.
- When the water is boiling place the bowl with egg mixture and cover the lid.
- Steam for 10-12 minutes or until the mixture cook.
- Garnish with remaining scallions(spring onions) and cilantro.
- Egg custard is ready to serve.
