Singhare Ka halwa (Waterchestnut Flour Glossary)

Ingredients:

  1. Singhare ka aata/chesnut flour- 1½ cup
  2. Ghee- 3 tbsp
  3. Sugar- 1 cup
  4. Water- 2½ cup
  5. Raisins- 1 tbsp
  6. Chopped almonds- 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Soak raisins in little water.
  2. Melt ghee in a wok(karahi) and fry chestnut flour on slow flame.
  3. Fry flour until fragrance comes out and color change to light brown.
  4. Bring the water to boil in a sauce pan and add sugar.
  5. Stir until sugar dissolve and pour a spoon full of flour into the syrup.
  6. Stir constantly to avoid lumps and pour another spoon of flour.
  7. Add all the flour by this process and stir constantly till mix well.
  8. Garnish with almonds and raisins and serve hot.
