Shrimp Curry

Ingredients:

  1. Shrimps- 500 gms(medium)
  2. Chopped onion- 1
  3. Tomato puree- 2 tbsp
  4. Garlic-ginger paste- 1 tbsp
  5. Red chilli powder- ½ tsp
  6. Cardamom- 1-2
  7. Cinnamon- 3-4 sticks
  8. Coconut milk- ¾ cup
  9. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  10. Vegetable oil- 2 tbsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Water- 1 ½ cup
  13. Curry powder- 2 tsp
  14. Lemon juice/amchur powder- 2 tsp
  15. Green coriander leaves

Method:

  1. First of all peel, deveine and marinate to shrimp in salt for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a sauce pan and add mustard seeds, cardamom and cinnamon, fry for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Now add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute again for 2 minutes.
  5. Add red chilli powder, curry powder, tomato puree, salt and coconut milk and fry until fragrance comes out.
  6. Pour water to make a thicken sauce like mixture and stir it, cook for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Now add shrimps and cook for 6-7 minutes and check shrimps are done.
  8. Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Shrimp curry is ready to serve with rice.
