Moong Dal

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup moong dal
  2. 1 tbsp ghee/butter
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. ½ cup onion (cut into small pieces)
  5. 2-3 flakes garlic
  6. 2-3 green chilies
  7. ½ tsp turmeric
  8. ½ tsp chilli powder
  9. 1 tsp coriander powder
  10. 1 tsp kasoori methi (optional)
  11. salt – to taste

Method

  1. Cook moong dal with 4 cups of water, add salt, & turmeric
  2. Heat ghee in a pan, splutter the cumin seeds.
  3. Add onion, garlic and green chillies, fry till the onion becomes golden.
  4. Add chilli powder, coriander powder and kassori methi leaves.
  5. After Cooking for a minute, add the mashed moong dal.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  7. Serve it with roties.
