Matar Kachori (Green Peas Kachori)

Ingredients:

  1. Wheat flour- 2 cups
  2. Green peas- 2 cups
  3. Carom seeds(ajwain)- ½ tsp
  4. Fine chopped green chillies- 2
  5. Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
  6. Chopped coriander- 2 tbsp
  7. Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala- ½ tsp
  9. Ghee- 2 tbsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Oil according to need
  12. Water to need

Method:

  1. Add flour, ajwain, salt and 2 tbsp ghee in a mixing bowl.
  2. Make a stiff dough with the help of water.
  3. Cover with a cotton cloth and keep aside.
  4. Boil the green peas in 2 cups of water until they become soft.
  5. Drain the water and mash them.
  6. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and splutter the cumin seeds.
  7. Add coriander powder, green chillies, Chopped coriander, salt and garam masala.
  8. Add mashed peas and mix well.
  9. Fry for 3-4 minutes and keep aside to cool.
  10. Make small balls of dough and flatten with palm.
  11. Fill the stuff in the center and seal the edges and roll in shape of kachori.
  12. Heat oil in a wok and fry the kachori till golden brown.
  13. Repeat the same process for all the dough.
  14. Serve hot kachori with curd or chutney.
