Easy Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour- 1 cup
  2. Baking powder- 1 ½ tsp
  3. Vanilla essence- 1 ½ tsp
  4. Unsweetened cocoa powder- 2 tbsp
  5. Milk or water- ¼ cup
  6. Vegetable oil- ¼ cup
  7. Sugar- ½ cup
  8. Salt- 1 pinch
  9. Eggs- 2

For frosting:

  1. Softened butter- 2 tbsp
  2. Unsweetened cocoa powder- ¼ cup
  3. Powdered sugar- 2 cups
  4. lukewarm milk- 3 tbsp
  5. Vanilla extract- 1 tsp

Method:

  1. First of all preheat oven to 350° F, grease and flour 9 inch bake tin.
  2. Mix all purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, cocoa powder, salt and vanilla essence in a bowl.
  3. Then add milk or water, vegetable oil and eggs.
  4. Mix the mixture until smooth, either by hand or by using mixer at slow speed, it will be better to mix by hand.
  5. Now transfer the mixture to bake tin, bake at 350° in the oven.
  6. After 30-35 minutes test by insert and removing a tooth pick, if it comes clean loose cake from pan.
  7. When the cake has cooled, cut the cake through the middle to make two layers.

Frosting

  1. Take softened butter with powdered sugar in a bowl, add vanilla, cocoa and 4 tablespoons lukewarm milk.
  2. Blend the mixture slightly until smooth.
  3. Frosting between the two layers on top and around the cake.
  4. The cake should serve at room temperature.
